Midwest Nephrology Nurse Practitioner Brenna Johnston

Brenna Johnston, ARNP-C

Midwest Nephrology Consultants prides itself on making sure that the needs of its patients are always met. To enhance this philosophy, our professional staff contains a highly skilled nurse practitioner, Brenna Johnston. Although your primary nephrologist monitors you, Brenna works with the doctor to provide you the best care for hypertension and CKD disease management. Brenna is available for follow up care for patients who need to be seen more frequently. This gives our patients the benefit of timely appointments, prescriptions, and allows our patients and families to speak one on one with a health care professional. Brenna will be working closely with all of the nephrologists as part of our total renal care team with an emphasis on hypertension and CKD disease management.

Brenna received her Master's in nursing from the University of Kansas School of Nursing in 2008, after five years' experience working as an RN in the Intensive Care Unit at Providence Medical Center and over three years' experience teaching at her alma mater, Baker University School of Nursing. Since 2008, she has served as a Nurse Practitioner, specializing in nephrology and dialysis management. As an integral part of our practice now, Brenna continues providing high quality care and education for patients with kidney disease.

Update - Electronic Health Recordkeeping

We are approaching two year implementation status of the Electronic Health Recordkeeping, but have many more government regulations to comply with. We will continue working on completion and thank you for your patience with us as we undergo this transition.

MNC is pleased with our progress so far regarding our Electronic Health Record implementation. Our cutting edge technology is assisting us to become more efficient in the delivery of our nephrology services with this practice-wide enhancement. We are continuing the fine-tuning of the process and ask for your patience and understanding especially when things are not "perfect" – please let us know immediately if you are uncomfortable with any part of the process – we will work to make it right! Everyone at MNC thanks our patients for your participation in this progressive change for all of us!

As with any change a practice undertakes of this scale, we wish to be honest with you that during the implementation phase, things may not run as smoothly as we would like for them to and may even appear to be somewhat chaotic. We would ask for your patience and understanding during this time but more importantly to let us know immediately if you are uncomfortable with any part of the process – we will work to make it right!

Everyone at MNC thanks you for your participation in this progressive change for all of us!
